250/365 Kate

is a successful magazine publisher, an instructor for and board member of Casting for Recovery. She has a cultural radio segment once a week that I’ve never heard(!), but she has the silky voice for it. I suspect she stalks the wild mountain beaver.

It does, doesn't it? And yet it isn't. It's noble.

Ok. You need to explain. Really--because all I can think is that you think these people look like rodents, and I'm hoping that isn't it. Although my husband did have a college roommate who had a little bit of the "rodents of unusual size" going on...

I love those ROUSs!

Oh, it's just one of those silly jokes among friends. There's a group of (five) of us who like fly fishing, scotch, and each other. We named our little secret society after this obscure, hard-to-see-in-the-wild rodent after one member showed us a photo of it in a book he'd had as a child. We weren't sure whether to believe it was a real animal, based on the photo. We have all become firm believers. And it's just fun to say aplodontia. May I not be struck dead for revealing what little I have here...
