365/365 Dorothy
One on the beach with sister and girlfriends; another boasting dressed-up sisters with violin and viola; one just married. My mantel photos show someone unknowable: the mysterious she-before-me. Who’s that living a life before she was my mother—that life that led to mine?

This one gave me goosebumps. Thank goodness for Dorothy.
I have often wondered this very thing peering at photos of the she(he)-before-me, trying to find hidden clues.
I have loved reading your words daily. Thank you. What a gift and a treat.
"The she before me..." Beautiful! My mother's name was Dorothy, too. Congratulations! I loved your blog...so glad you've given us a way to follow you.
Ditto! Ditto! Ditto! Ditto! To all comments!
Yes, a beautiful ending, and very appropriate since everything begins with our mothers so why shouldn't they have first dibs on our endings as well?
Looking forward to your next blog adventure!
What a fantastic and appropriate last post. Like Cedar I literally have goosebumps!
I am so disappointed I came to the x365 so late, and have only enjoyed your blog for about 63 days ... its been a privilege.
I'm glad to see you won't be lost into cyberspace. I'll be following you!
It was a most excellent blog, I. Bunting.
Thanks, everyone. It's been great reading all of you (and I'll continue to, as long as you're writing out there)! Mali, the beauty of this project is the archives—you could spend hours and hours catching up reading everyone's entire year.
That is a lovely, lovely end to this 365. It makes me want to plan who will be my last.
Mali: I joined later than a lot of these folks, and IB is right--going through the archives to learn even more is really powerful. You really get to know each other!
And I've got, like, 130 left to go myself--I'll be around a long while yet!
