92/365 Another Ron

He was a self-proclaimed born-again Christian who loved the band Journey because there were no Satanic messages when the records were played backward. Susan and I often poked fun at him the Bloom County way: “Devil bunnies! I snort the nose, Lucifer! Banana! Banana!”

They say if you play a Microsoft CD backwards, you'll also hear Satanic messages. Happily for you, Apple is on the side of the angels.

Does he know this? Has he actually played Journey backward?

But what about the messages in Journey's music when played forward? Hmmm... I will have to listen again... Oh darn! Now I will have the nah, nah, nah nah, nah from Lovin', Touchin' Squeezin stuck in my head all day!

mm: According to Ron, at the time (1984), he in fact did this with all his records. Apparently not a lot passed the test. Be warned!

He did?!?

Helen and I are making fun of him this VERY second. I expect it to go on a while.

I actually have no idea how one plays a record backward, unless one does it manually, maybe. I have a hard time imagining myself spending my time this way... Anyone out there know for sure how to play records backward?

Of course someone knows. :-) Yes, you do it manually with your finger, trying to approximate a 33 1/3 speed.

I only did it once during the "Paul is dead" thing when I heard there was a clue buried in some song.

If I'm not mistaken, the aledged phrase that could be heard when the album is played backward (manually as described)is John's voice saying "I buried Paul."

My early eighties' boyfriend played it for me and really believed he heard it. "If you say so," I said.
