125/365 Pinky

As I paced her living room floor during Blue Velvet’s climax, my mother-in-law glanced from her knitting to the screen and calmly stated, “I’ve seen this before.” Once we went looking for a video together. I asked her what she liked. “Sex and violence.”

LOL. Now there's an image - knitting and watching Blue Velvet, which tops my list of movies I'll never watch again.

It took me years to work up to it, which is why I was watching it in a living room in the first place and not a theater. I was a Twin Peaks fan and had hoped that would build my tolerance for this film. Really glad I saw it. Have never watched it again.

Where do you people hear of these movies??

I have one for you, though--A History of Violence. Great movie! It satisfies both of your m-i-l's criteria.

I actually saw Blue Velvet twice. After seeing it the first time I retained an impression that it was an interesting movie, and then watched it a second time years later with a friend. He thought watching it even once was a waste of time, and I must say, I couldn't think what inspired me to watch it twice.
