263/365 Rosalind

The six-degrees game led me to glamorous Rosalind and my at-last-adult move to Washington springtime. I had a futon and clothing enough to not embarrass the temp agency outright. She had a house, an operatic voice, summertime daughters. There was sweetness to those days.

Another six degrees thing: Rosalind is (or was) pals with Frederica "Flicka" von Stade, one of my great operatic idols. So because I know you, Flicka is a friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend!

SY: I couldn't have told you that, although this is sounding vaguely familiar. Rosalind knows a lot of people. When I moved in with her, the other owner of the house was a man named Art, who worked with a guy named Chris, who was Leyla's fiancé. But that wasn't how I found Rosalind, as I'm sure you know (see Carole).

I remember talking to Rosalind about von Stade in your kitchen in Takoma Park, at one of your parties.
