278/365 Another Jim
His driving us to the airport, letting us leave our car at his place for two weeks, then picking us up again seems an utterly selfless act. It bears a sweetness that can be tasted and savored, a sweetness never meant to be repaid.

Perhaps, but you've been paying it forward ever since.
Goodness is as goodness does.
I love both movies being referenced here! And I love the post too!
IB - I am happy to know that in this universe those selfless acts do get repaid.
Been the "Airport Ride Giver" for years. Never wanted payment. Then one day...
I LOVE DRIVING PEOPLE TO AIRPORTS! (Otter you just learned why)
SY: Have I? Sure hope I will. BK: I know that story... Can't quite imagine driving someone to the airport only to find out I was embarking on a surprise vacation.
Two years later and I cannot describe the emotion that fills me when I think of that airport ride. I watch the movie that Christine made almost weekely and I lose it everytime. And incredible journey of surprise, adventure and, above all, love.
curious? B's 40th Birthday
BK: I'd never seen these before! That was GREAT (and got me tearing up again...).
BK, that is SO impressive! And no, I don't mean the Grand Canyon (although that's pretty cool, too). I mean the love that inspired that fabulous treat. You must be one hell of a friend.
I still tear up when I think of the months my family and friend kept this from me and the extent to which Christine went to make the whole thing happen. Even contacting my doctor to make sure there was nothing I might need while away. She also arranged with my boss for me to have the time off. All without my knowledge. But you should really see the movie! She took the days of video she shot and made me my own movie. Complete with a soundtrack! How many people do you know that have their own soundtrack? But honestly I did not want to take away from "Another Jim". He will get his special airport ride too! It isn't the gift that makes me tear up. It's the love behind it from so many. And the fact that, too this day, I cannot believe Christine didn't have an aneorism coordinating this for months behind my back!!!!
BK: Don't worry about taking anything away from the post. One thing I love about 365 is some of the conversations it inspires!
Thank IB! To this day I cannot stop talking about the "Day I was Punked"! During the trip I told everyone I wasn't supposed to be there. And how it happened I got there.... I made people cry coast to coast! How cool is that!
These comments enrich the post. Me thinks.
BTW curious to know what fellow 365-ers plan to do with their writings once complete. I'm going to print out each post complete with the comments and create a page with art for each person/post.
All thanks to "Another Jim" for stirring such great dialog.
IOS: That sounds very cool. I'm not artistic, but I do print them out at the end of each month and throw them in a binder...
