Inspired by Fat Red Ant, who was inspired by Dan Waber, I am taking up the challenge to write about 365 memorable people whose paths have crossed mine. The form is 44 words, in honor of the number of years spent running into them.

362/365 Lars
Possibly everyone was a little in love with the guy who grew up growing roses. There was nurture in his nature—or was it the other way around? We delighted in mouthing his Vikinglike name.
Our campus call and response: Lars: Namibia! Me: Zimbabwe!
Deloney: That is odd, about the Larry. I have never met an Alar (or a Kjell, Sewa Yoleme!). However, when I went to the La Brea Tarpits, I had a black tour guide named Bjorn.
I knew a Lars, and also an Alar. Oddly, I've never known a Larry.
ReplyDeleteI knew a Bjorn and a Kjell, does that count? They were identical twins. I was friends with one of them, but could never figure out which one.
