279/365 Danielle

My hairdresser’s beauty dwarfs everything near it; I look at her in the mirror as she works. Her hair-color changes captivate, as does her accent. Our bimonthly gossip is missing only a sturdy bar to lean against and the pause of a glass raised.

Hairdressers, Psycologists, Bartenders, Ministers, all get the same degree. I really need to stop doing my own hair. I think I am missing something. Fun and honest post. I love it!

There's an editor in every crowd. I do see the subject/verb agreement problem here. At least I do now. But geez, it took me long enough to get this to 44 words. Her accent, which does not change, actually captivates.

All is fair in love and 365-ing! This is why I had a's in Social Studies/History and c's in English! Grammatically correct or not it is a great post!

Everyone needs a Danielle with a changing or captivating accent!

IB, I wasn't being snide---I actually misread it! (Then again, I misread the last line, too---somehow I thought the bar was the type in a ballet school, and you were using "glass" in the British sense of a mirror. I think I need to find some serious drugs to blame this on.)

SY: You are so gay. (The rest of the world: SY and I are friends, so we can tease one another mercilessly.) And I was about to say that would be barre, but I guess it's gotten Americanized enough that Webster's isn't actually backing me up on that one.

I have to admit, sitting in a bar with a drink in one's hand makes a bit more sense than the dance studio scenario. Though if one raised a glass (not a mirror) there, it would likely be champagne, which makes me think of mimosas, which makes me think of freshly squeezed orange juice and the lightest pancakes in the universe, and friends I haven't seen for years...{sob!}

I love this post (changing accent and all). You painted such a vivid picture of Danielle that I can almost see her.

P.S. Wouldn't it be fun for all of us to meet in a bar (B.K.?), talk about this 365 experience and get smashingly drunk!

IOS: I like this idea. Of course, it might be shocking to get a visual on everybody.
